RealLifeParenting

Home-Start’s RealLifeParenting campaign highlights the unrealistic expectations put on parents from social media. The aim is to encourage online discussions about RealLifeParenting and to expose those expectations that are not realistically portrayed online. Research for the campaign showed :

  • 6-out-of-10 parents feel under pressure from social media to be the ‘perfect parent’
  • Parents struggle for an average of 7 months before reaching out for support
  • 51% of parents said fears of being seen as a bad parent would stop then from asking for help
  • Home-Start’s RealLifeParenting campaign is encouraging people to talk about the realities of parenting
